CLANCY JONES
Born on the Southeast Texas Coast, Clancy Jones was steeped in a family heritage rich in songwriting and music-making. His roots can be tied generations back to a third cousin by the name of Moon Mullican, the King of the Hillbilly Piano Players. With a family dynamic that to some might have been considered unconventional, Clancy’s upbringing helped him to grow up fast and strong. Beginning in his formative years, he’s always had the mindset of ‘go and be whoever you damn well please.’ This energy shines through in his contemporary songwriting.
Clancy’s first LP, Found My Way, is a collection of songs that touch on the subjects of love, relationships and travel. Found My Way leans into the theme of the constant movement of life, of never quite feeling settled, and of our innate human desire and longing for our next adventure: ‘finding our big starry desert sky.’ The majority of tracks on this release were written during time spent in Oklahoma during the world-wide pandemic. Taking advantage of forced downtime, Clancy reached back into his past memories and wrangled up some beautiful poetry, composed to song, about traveling the United States and Mexico and the wild beauty that goes along with his experiences.

Wether it be of drinking, lost love or of potential fate he’s covered it all in his new record: “Ten Thousand Tears”.
